Kick counter
Start a session, tap the button for every movement and see how long it took to reach 10. Sessions are kept in this browser with their start and end times, and you can export them. This tool counts; it does not interpret.
Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Get comfortable and press Start counting.
- Press Movement felt each time you feel your baby move.
- When you have counted enough, press End session. It is saved with its start time, length, count and the time to reach 10, if you got there.
- Export CSV saves all sessions as a spreadsheet file.
What is recorded
- The count and the elapsed time while a session runs.
- The time from the start to the tenth movement, once you reach it. The count can keep going after that.
- Sessions are kept newest first, up to 365.
Notes
This tool only counts what you tap. It gives no assessment of your baby’s health. If you are concerned about your baby’s movements, contact your midwife, doctor or maternity unit.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a movement?
Guides usually count kicks, flutters, swishes and rolls, and not hiccups. Follow the definition your midwife or doctor gives you; this tool simply counts your taps.
How long should it take to reach 10?
Some patient guides mention 10 movements within 2 hours, others use different targets, and many babies take only a few minutes. This tool does not judge the time. If you are worried about your baby's movements, contact your midwife or doctor.
When do people start counting?
Guides often suggest starting around the third trimester, but timing differs between countries and pregnancies. Ask your care provider when to start.
Is my data stored anywhere?
Only in your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
