Subscription cost calculator

Add each subscription with its price and how often you pay. The calculator converts everything to a monthly and yearly cost and adds it up, so you can see what the small payments come to. The list is kept on this device.

3 subscriptions, about 6.80 per week.

The list is saved in this browser only and is never uploaded. Use any currency; amounts are not converted. The three entries shown at first are examples: remove them.

Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Type a name, a price and how often it is billed, then press Add subscription.
  2. Remove the example entries.
  3. Read the totals at the bottom and the weekly figure under the table.

How it works

Per year = price × payments per year. Per month = per year ÷ 12. Per week = per year ÷ 52. Totals are summed in cents and rounded at the end.

Worked example

15.99 monthly, 10.99 monthly and 29.99 yearly: yearly cost 191.88 + 131.88 + 29.99 = 353.75, which is about 29.48 per month.

Tips

  • Go through your bank statement for payments you forgot.
  • Yearly plans often look cheaper per month, but only if you use them all year.
  • Check which subscriptions you used in the last month.

Frequently asked questions

How is the monthly cost calculated?

The yearly cost is price × payments per year (52 for weekly, 12 for monthly, 4 for every three months, 1 for yearly). Monthly cost is the yearly cost ÷ 12, so a yearly plan is shown as a twelfth of what you pay.

Where is my list stored?

In your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded. Clearing site data, private mode or another browser or device starts a new list.

Does it handle taxes, trials or price changes?

No. Enter the price you actually pay, and edit the list when a price changes or a trial ends. For a free trial, add it when the paid period starts.

How many subscriptions can I add?

Up to 60, with names up to 40 characters. The three examples at first can be removed.
