Grocery list maker

Type an item, choose its aisle and add it. The list is grouped by aisle in a typical shopping order, so you can walk the shop once. Tick items as you go, print the list, and your list stays on your device.

The list is saved in this browser only and is never uploaded.

Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Type an item, including a quantity if you like, choose an aisle and press Add item.
  2. In the shop, tick items as you pick them up. Ticked items are crossed out.
  3. Clear ticked removes everything you got; Clear all starts a new list.
  4. Print gives you a paper copy grouped by aisle.

How it works

Items are grouped by aisle in the order produce, bakery, dairy and eggs, meat and fish, pantry, frozen, drinks, household, other. Aisles with no items are hidden. Everything is saved in your browser’s local storage after each change.

Example

Add “Apples” to Produce, “Milk” to Dairy and eggs and “Bananas” to Produce. The list shows Produce with Apples and Bananas, then Dairy and eggs with Milk. Tick Apples and the counter reads 2 left of 3.

Tips

Keep the order of aisles in mind to match your store, or use Other for items you want at the end. Plan the week’s dishes first with the meal planner and then add their ingredients here.

Frequently asked questions

Is my list saved?

Yes. It is stored in your browser's local storage on this device after every change and is never uploaded. Clearing site data, private mode or another browser or device starts with an empty list.

Can I use it in the shop on my phone?

Yes. Open the page on your phone, add items and tick them as you put them in the basket. The list is saved on that device, so a list made on a computer will not appear on the phone.

How do I print the list?

Press Print. Only the list is printed, in two columns by aisle, without buttons. You can also choose Save as PDF in the print dialog.

How many items can I add?

Up to 300 items of up to 100 characters each. Items stay in the order you added them within each aisle.
