How to use it

  1. Add chores: the room (optional), the chore and how often it should be done.
  2. Tick the days of the week when you clean.
  3. Read the four-week plan below the list and press Print to get a paper copy.
  4. Remove chores with × or press Load example to go back to the sample list.

How it works

The generator first places daily chores on every cleaning day, then weekly, every-2-weeks and monthly chores in that order. Each one goes on the day that currently has the fewest chores, the earliest day if tied. Because the result depends only on your list and days, it stays the same until you change them.

Example

With daily “Wipe counters” and three weekly chores on Monday to Friday, the weekly chores land on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and Thursday and Friday keep only the daily chore.

Tips

Keep chores short and specific, and put big jobs such as windows on a monthly cycle. If one day is always full, untick a day you are away or add one more cleaning day.

Frequently asked questions

How are the chores spread out?

Daily chores go on every cleaning day. Weekly chores are given the same day each week, every-2-weeks chores alternate between weeks 1 and 3 or weeks 2 and 4, and monthly chores go on one day in one of the four weeks. The generator always picks the least busy day, earliest first, so the load is even.

Can I choose which days I clean?

Yes, tick the days. If none is ticked, all seven days are used. Chores are placed only on the ticked days.

Is the schedule tied to dates?

No. It is a four-week cycle that you repeat: after week 4 start again at week 1. Pick any starting week.

Is my list saved?

Yes, in your browser's local storage on this device after every change. It is never uploaded. You can hold up to 60 chores.
