Invoice generator
Type your details and the items, and the invoice updates on the page. Download it as a PDF or print it. Everything is made in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded.
Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Fill in your details and the customer’s, the invoice number and the dates.
- Add the items with quantity and unit price. Set the tax rate and, if needed, a discount.
- Add notes such as payment details, then press Download PDF or Print.
How it works
Each line amount = quantity × unit price. Subtotal = sum of lines. The discount (a percent of the subtotal or a fixed amount, never more than the subtotal) is subtracted, and tax is calculated on what remains. Total = subtotal − discount + tax. The sheet on the page is what prints; the PDF is drawn from the same numbers.
Worked example
One line of 1 × 1,200.00 and one of 3 × 45.50 (136.50) make a subtotal of 1,336.50. With 20% tax the total is 1,603.80.
Tips
- Use a running invoice number so each one is unique.
- Print and choose “Save as PDF” if your text is not in Latin letters.
- For the tax on a single price, see the VAT calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Is my invoice sent or stored anywhere?
No. The invoice is built in your browser and the PDF is created on your device. Nothing is uploaded, so closing the page clears it.
Why does the PDF refuse some characters?
The PDF uses standard fonts that only draw Latin letters. If your text has other alphabets, choose Print and then "Save as PDF" in your browser's print window, which works with any text.
How are the totals calculated?
Each line is quantity × unit price. The discount comes off the subtotal, either as a percent or a fixed amount, then tax is added on the discounted amount. Every step is rounded to the cent.
What do I put as the currency?
Anything you like, such as USD, EUR or a symbol. It is only printed next to the total; it does not change the numbers or convert anything.
Does this make a legally valid invoice?
It lays out the usual details, but required fields such as tax numbers and wording differ between countries. Check what applies to you and add it in the address or notes.
