Emoji picker
Search for an emoji by its English name or browse by group, then click the ones you want. They collect in a box that you can edit and copy, ready to paste into a chat, a post or a document.
Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Type a word such as “heart” or “cat” in the search box, or pick a group to browse.
- Click an emoji to add it to the box. Click again for more.
- Press Copy and paste it where you need it. Use Clear to start again.
How it works
The list is built into the page, so nothing is sent anywhere and searching is instant. Search matches every word you type against the emoji’s name and its group. Some symbols such as the red heart and the victory hand are text characters by default, so the tool adds the variation selector that makes them show as pictures.
Worked example
Search for “crying” and you get the crying face and the loudly crying face. Click both and the box holds 😢😭.
Tips
Different apps limit how many emoji fit in a name or a bio, and some count one emoji as two characters. If a copied emoji shows as an empty box, the font on that device does not have it yet.
Frequently asked questions
How do I copy an emoji?
Click the emoji to add it to the box under the list, then press Copy. You can click several, edit the box like normal text, and copy everything at once.
Why is my favourite emoji missing?
This is a compact list of about 450 common emoji, not the whole Unicode set. Skin tones, flags and the many family and profession variants are not included.
Can I search in a different language?
Not yet. Names are the standard English short names, such as "face with tears of joy" or "red heart". Searching also matches the group name, so the word "food" finds the food group.
Will the emoji look the same everywhere?
No. Every system, app and browser draws emoji in its own style, so the picture can differ between a phone and a computer, but the meaning is the same.
