Text repeater

Type something, set how many times it should repeat and pick what goes between the copies. Handy for test data, filler, patterns and chat messages.

Between copies

Length: 34 characters

Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste the text to repeat.
  2. Set how many times it should appear and choose the separator: a new line, a space, nothing, or your own text.
  3. Press Copy. The length of the result is shown under it.

How it works

The text is put into a list of copies, and the copies are joined with the separator. Before building the result, the tool calculates its length; if it would pass 1,000,000 characters, it shows an error and builds nothing. An empty text gives an empty result.

Worked example

“ha” repeated 3 times with a space between gives “ha ha ha”, 8 characters: 3 × 2 for the copies plus 2 × 1 for the separators. With “Nothing” between, you get “hahaha”, 6 characters.

Tips

Repeat with “New line” to make a list of identical rows for testing, then pair it with add line numbers. For a long divider, repeat “-” or “=” with nothing between.

Frequently asked questions

What is the largest result?

The result is limited to 1,000,000 characters, about 1 MB of plain text, and the number of repeats to 100,000. Beyond that a message appears instead of the text, so the page does not freeze.

Do the separators count towards the length?

Yes. The length is the text length times the number of copies, plus the separator length times one less than that, because there is no separator after the last copy.

Can the separator be a comma and a space?

Yes. Choose "Your own" and type it, for example ", " or " | ". It is used exactly as typed, including spaces. A line break cannot be typed there; use the "New line" choice for it.

Does it work with emoji?

Yes. Any text is copied as it is, including emoji and characters from any alphabet. Remember that some emoji are several characters long when counting the limit.
