Email signature generator
Fill in your details and see the signature as it will look. Copy the HTML for your mail program's signature settings, or copy the plain-text version. The markup uses a simple table with inline styles, which most mail programs keep.
Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Enter your name, role, company and contact details. Empty fields are left out.
- Pick an accent colour and a layout.
- Press Copy HTML and paste it into your mail program’s signature settings, or use Copy plain text.
How it works
The signature is a small table with inline styles. The name is bold, the phone number becomes a tel link and the email a mailto link, and the website becomes a link with an https address if you did not type a scheme. Every value is escaped before it is put into the code, and the accent colour is accepted only as a six-digit hex value.
Worked example
If the company field contains “Smith & Sons”, the code holds “Smith & Sons”, which shows as “Smith & Sons” in the mail. A website typed as “example.com” becomes a link to https://example.com/ that shows “example.com”.
Tips
Keep a signature short: a name, a role and one or two ways to reach you. Test it with a dark-mode mail program, since your accent colour should be readable on both light and dark backgrounds. Do not put private details into a signature that goes to many people.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add the signature to my email program?
Copy the HTML, then open the signature settings of your mail program. Programs that have an HTML or source option take the code directly. Others let you paste the preview from this page into the editor instead. Send a test message to check the result.
Is the text I type safe in the HTML?
Yes. Characters such as less-than signs, ampersands and quotes in every field are converted to HTML entities, so they appear as typed and cannot add tags. Links only get web addresses that start with http or https, so other schemes are dropped.
Why does my logo not show?
The logo is loaded from the web address you give, so it must be a public https address of an image. Some mail programs block remote images until the reader allows them. Images pasted into the editor directly are not part of this tool.
Why a table in the code?
Many mail programs ignore modern page layout, but they handle tables and inline styles well. The code uses no scripts, no external style sheets and no web fonts.
