| Case | Example | Where it is used |
|---|---|---|
| UPPERCASE | THE QUICK FOX | headings, warnings, abbreviations |
| lowercase | the quick fox | tags, e-mail addresses |
| Title Case | The Quick Fox | headings, book and film titles |
| Sentence case | The quick fox. It ran. | ordinary text, interface labels |

For the three code styles, the converter first splits the text into words (at spaces, punctuation and existing capital humps, so “userAccountId” becomes “user account id”) and then joins them in the chosen style. Each line is converted separately.
Tips
Sentence case starts a new sentence after a full stop, question mark, exclamation mark or line break. Proper names in the middle of a sentence become lowercase, so check names and acronyms such as “NASA” after converting.
