How to use it
- Enter the start date: the wedding day, the day you met, the day you moved in or opened your business.
- The second date is today by default. Change it to see the count on any other day.
- Read the time since the start, then the next anniversaries with their weekday and the days left, and the milestone days below.
How it works
The elapsed time is split into whole years, whole months and the remaining days, using the same rule as the age calculator: the same day of the month counts as a full month, and when a month is shorter the last day of the month is used. Total days, weeks and months are shown next to it.
Anniversaries fall on the same day and month every year. If you count up to the anniversary itself, it is listed as today with no days left.
Milestones are plain day counts after the start date: 100, 365, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000 and 10000 days. They are marked as passed once the date is behind you.
Worked example
Start date 15 June 2018, counted to 3 November 2026:
- 8 years and 4 months bring you to 15 October 2026, and 19 more days to 3 November;
- the total is 3,063 days, which is 437 weeks;
- the next anniversary, number 9, is on 15 June 2027, a Tuesday, 224 days away;
- day 1000 was 11 March 2021, and day 5000 is still ahead.
Tips
- For the ninth birthday of a company or the 20th year at a job, use the same tool: the start date can be anything.
- Planning a surprise? Look at the day milestones: day 500 or day 1000 are often a fresh reason to celebrate.
