How to use it
- Pick the pay frequency.
- Enter any one real pay date of yours. For monthly pay its day of the month is used.
- Enter the year and choose what to do with dates that fall on a weekend.
How it works
Weekly and biweekly dates are found by stepping 7 or 14 days from the date you entered, forwards or backwards, until they fall in the chosen year. Semi-monthly pay uses the 15th and the last day of every month. Monthly pay uses the day of the month of your date, or the last day of shorter months. If you move weekend dates, Saturday and Sunday go to the Friday before or the Monday after.
Worked example
Biweekly pay with a pay date of Friday, 2 January 2026 gives 26 dates in 2026, from 2 January to 18 December. January (2, 16, 30) and July (3, 17, 31) have three paychecks. The next date, 1 January 2027, is in the next year.
Tips
- Use the extra paycheck months to pay a bill or save, not to raise your spending.
- Keep your employer’s payroll calendar as the final word.
