How to use it
- Enter the start date.
- Leave the second date as today, or set another date to count up to.
- Read the days passed, the day number, the next multiple of 100 days and the list of milestone dates.
How it works
Dates are calendar days, so time zones and daylight saving have no effect. Day and week milestones add 1 day or 7 days at a time to the start date. Month milestones add whole calendar months and keep the day of the month where possible. The next multiple of 100 is the next whole hundred after the days passed.
Worked example
Start date 1 January 2025, counting up to 3 November 2026:
- 365 days in 2025 plus 304 days to 1 November 2026 and 2 more gives 671 days passed, so it is day 672;
- the next multiple of 100 is 700, 29 days away, on 2 December 2026;
- 100 days later is 11 April 2025, 1,000 days later is 28 September 2027 and 10,000 days later is 19 May 2052;
- 100 months later is 1 May 2033.
Ideas for milestones
Anniversaries of a relationship, a baby’s first hundred days, sobriety or no-smoking streaks, a start date at work, or a long project. Round numbers of days often fall on dates nobody would think to mark.
