How to use it
- Choose a pattern, or Custom to type the days on and days off.
- Enter the first working day.
- Choose how many months to show, and use Print for a paper or PDF copy.
How it works
Counting from the first working day as day 0, a day is a working day when its number modulo (days on + days off) is smaller than the days on. Every other day after the start is a day off. The calendar is Monday-first, and the totals count the days inside the months shown.
Worked example
A 2-2 pattern starting on Tuesday, 3 November 2026: working days are the 3rd and 4th, days off the 5th and 6th, working days again the 7th and 8th. A 4-4 pattern starting on 1 November 2026 gives 16 working days and 14 days off in that 30-day month: three full 8-day cycles are 12 working days, and the 6 days left add 4 working days and 2 days off.
Notes
- Holidays and weekends are not special: the pattern ignores the calendar week.
- Night shifts that cross midnight are shown on the day they begin.
