How to use it
- Enter a year. The page opens on the current year.
- Leave the month on Whole year for twelve small calendars, or choose one month for a large one with room to write in.
- Pick the first day of the week and switch on week numbers if you need them.
- Press Print or save as PDF.
How it works
Each month is laid out as rows of seven days. The first row starts with empty cells up to the weekday of the 1st, computed from the proleptic Gregorian calendar, so any year from 1000 to 9999 works. Saturdays and Sundays are drawn in a different colour. The week number of each row is the ISO 8601 number of the row’s Thursday.
Worked example
January 2026 starts on a Thursday. With weeks starting on Monday, the first row has three empty cells and then 1, 2, 3 and 4, and it is week 1. The month has five rows, weeks 1 to 5. January 2021 begins on a Friday, which belongs to week 53 of 2020, so its first row is numbered 53.
Tips
- In the print dialog, switch off “Headers and footers” for a cleaner page.
- 2026 has 53 ISO weeks, because it starts on a Thursday; the last row of December is week 53.
Frequently asked questions
How do I print the calendar or save it as a PDF?
Press the Print button. The browser's print dialog shows only the calendar, without the rest of the page. To get a file, choose Save as PDF as the printer. For a whole year, landscape orientation usually fits best.
Which week numbers are shown?
ISO 8601 week numbers. Weeks run from Monday to Sunday, and week 1 is the one that contains the year's first Thursday. Early January days can belong to week 52 or 53 of the old year, and late December days to week 1 of the next.
Why does a Sunday-first calendar still show Monday-based week numbers?
The number follows the ISO rule for the Thursday of each row, which is in the same ISO week as most of the row. A row that starts on Sunday has its Sunday in the previous ISO week, so for that single day the number differs.
Is today highlighted?
Yes, when you look at the current year. The highlight is not printed in colour on most printers; it is meant for the screen.
