How it works
The number of days is 31, 30 or 28 or 29 by month. Weeks are the days divided by 7 with the remainder. Weekdays and weekend days are counted by going through every date of the month, and the year total is the sum of its 12 months.
Worked example
November 2026 has 30 days, which is 4 weeks and 2 days. It starts on Sunday, 1 November and ends on Monday, 30 November. There are 5 Sundays (1, 8, 15, 22, 29) and 4 Saturdays (7, 14, 21, 28), so 9 weekend days and 21 weekdays. February 2024 has 29 days and February 2026 has 28.

Which months have 31 days?
January, March, May, July, August, October and December have 31 days. April, June, September and November have 30.
How many days does February have?
28 days, or 29 in a leap year. A year is a leap year when it divides by 4, except years that divide by 100 but not by 400, so 2024 and 2000 are leap years and 1900 and 2100 are not.
Are the weekdays public working days?
No. Weekdays here are simply Monday to Friday. Public holidays are not subtracted, so for working days with days off use the working days calculator.
Does the Gregorian calendar apply to every year?
The calculator uses the Gregorian rules for all years, including years before its adoption, which varied by country.
