Clothing size converter
Choose women or men, pick the size system you know and type your size to see the standard equivalent everywhere else. The numbers come from the usual conversion charts. They are approximate, because every brand cuts its own fit, so always check the brand's own size guide before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
Are these conversions exact?
No. They are the standard rule-of-thumb charts. Brands, countries and even different lines of one brand cut their clothes differently, so a UK 10 from one shop can fit like a UK 12 from another. Use the result to find your starting size, then read the brand's own chart.
Why is French the same as EU here?
Most conversion charts list French sizes equal to EU sizes, for example EU 38 and FR 38. German sizes, which some shops also call EU, are two lower than French (German 36 is French 38). If a brand lists German sizes, subtract 2 from the EU number shown here.
How do men's sizes work?
Men's US and UK tops are the chest measurement in inches, so a US 40 fits a chest of about 40 in (102 cm). EU, Italian and French tops are the chest in inches plus 10, so US 40 is EU 50. The letter size is a rough guide only, because S, M and L vary the most between brands.
Does this cover trousers, shoes or children's clothes?
No. The charts are for adult tops and dresses. Trousers use waist and length, shoes have their own converter, and children's sizes follow age or height, which differ again by brand.
Why is there no Japan column for men?
Japanese men's tops are labelled with letters (S, M, L) that run smaller than the same letters elsewhere. There is no reliable one-to-one numeric chart, so the tool does not guess.
