Flow rate converter
Type a flow rate, choose the units, and see the result and the same flow in every common unit. Useful for pumps, taps, ventilation and pipes. Gallons are US liquid gallons.
Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Type a number. A dot or a comma works as the decimal separator.
- Choose the unit you have and the unit you need. The ⇄ button swaps them.
- The table below shows the same flow in all common units at once.

Worked example
A shower using 9.5 L/min is 9.5 / 3.785412 = 2.51 GPM. A fan rated 250 CFM moves 250 × 1.699 = 424.8 m³/h, or 118 L/s.
Quick reference
- 1 L/s = 60 L/min = 3.6 m³/h ≈ 15.85 GPM
- 1 m³/h ≈ 0.5886 CFM ≈ 4.403 GPM
- 1 CFM ≈ 1.699 m³/h ≈ 7.481 GPM
Frequently asked questions
How many litres per minute is a US gallon per minute?
3.785411784 L/min, since a US liquid gallon is 3.785411784 litres. So 10 GPM is 37.85 L/min.
How do I convert L/min to m³/h?
Multiply by 0.06, because 60 minutes make an hour and 1,000 litres make a cubic metre. 100 L/min is 6 m³/h.
What is CFM?
Cubic feet per minute, a common rating for fans and vents. One CFM is about 1.699 m³/h or 0.4719 L/s.
Is the imperial gallon used here?
No. GPM here means US gallons per minute. An imperial gallon is 4.54609 litres, so imperial GPM values are about 20% larger in litres.
How do I get from flow rate to the volume delivered?
Multiply the flow by the time. A pump delivering 30 L/min fills 30 × 10 = 300 litres in 10 minutes.
