Lesson plan generator

Enter the lesson details, objectives and materials, then set the stages and how many minutes each takes. The plan adds up the total length and shows when each stage starts and ends. Print it or save it as PDF from the print dialog.

Use 24-hour HH:MM, such as 09:00. Leave empty to show minutes from the start.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the title, subject, level, teacher and date.
  2. Write the objectives and materials, one per line.
  3. Edit the stages: name, minutes and what happens.
  4. Optionally set a start time, then print the plan.

How it works

Stages are listed in order. Stage times are cumulative: a stage that starts at minute 5 and lasts 10 minutes ends at minute 15. With a start time, those minutes are added to the clock, so 09:00 gives 09:05–09:15. A last column is left empty for your notes on the printed page.

Example

The default stages last 5, 10, 15, 10 and 5 minutes, a 45-minute lesson: 09:00–09:05, 09:05–09:15, 09:15–09:30, 09:30–09:40 and 09:40–09:45.

Tips

  • Leave a few minutes at the end as a buffer for questions.
  • Put the assessment first when you plan, then decide the stages that lead to it.

Frequently asked questions

How is the total time worked out?

It is the sum of the minutes of all stages. The plan shows this as the duration, and each stage starts when the previous one ends.

What stages should a lesson have?

The template starts with warm-up, introduction, guided practice, independent practice and wrap-up (45 minutes in total). It is only a common structure; rename, remove or add stages (up to 12) to suit your lesson.

Can I save the plan as PDF?

Use Print and choose Save as PDF in your browser print dialog. Only the plan is printed, not the form.

Is my plan stored anywhere?

No. Everything stays in the page and is lost when you close it, so print or save a PDF before leaving.
