How to use it
- Type the words or sentences, one per line.
- Choose the row height: 8 to 12 mm (about 1/3 to 1/2 in) suits most beginners; smaller rows suit older writers.
- Pick how many empty rows follow each model line, and the letter style.
- Download the PDF or print the preview at actual size.
How it works
Every text line is placed on a base line and a traced copy is drawn in light gray, so a pencil or pen can follow it. The row height sets the font size: the gap from the top line to the base line is about 72% of the font size, which is the capital height of the fonts used. Rows are spaced 2.1 times the row height apart, leaving space for descenders such as g and y. Sheets of more than 10 pages are refused.
Example
A4 portrait with a 15 mm margin, 10 mm rows and the Name line fits 12 rows per page (rows are 21 mm apart). One sentence with 2 empty rows after it uses 3 rows.
Tips
- Print at 100% (actual size) so the rows really have the height you chose.
- Use the gray model lines for tracing first, then switch to guide lines only for independent writing.
- Short words, one per line with several empty rows, work better for beginners than long sentences.
