How it works

The window is the screenshot plus a title bar whose height is 4.5% of the width. The window gets rounded corners (40% of the bar height), the screenshot is clipped to them, and the tab and address text are shortened with an ellipsis if they do not fit.

Worked example

A 1000 x 600 screenshot: bar 45 px, window 1000 x 645, margin 50 px, final image 1100 x 745 px.

Tips

Crop the screenshot to the page content first; the tool adds the browser frame itself.
For documentation, the transparent background lets the page’s own background show through.

Frequently asked questions

Does the mockup copy a real browser's design?

No. It is a generic window with three coloured buttons, a tab and a rounded address field, drawn with simple shapes. It does not use any browser's logo or exact styling.

How large is the output?

The title bar is 4.5% of the screenshot width (at least 36 px) and the margin around the window is 5% of the width when a background or shadow is on. A 1000 x 600 screenshot gives a 1100 x 745 image. Screenshots with a side over 2400 px are scaled down.

Can I keep the background transparent?

Yes. Choose Transparent; the PNG keeps transparency, including around the soft shadow.

Are my screenshots uploaded?

No. They are drawn on a canvas in your browser.
