SVG to PNG converter

Drop an SVG file or paste its code, choose a scale from 1× to 8× or a width in pixels, and download a PNG. The SVG is drawn by your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Everything happens in your browser. Your files are never uploaded.

Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Drop an SVG file, or paste the code into the box.
  2. Choose Scale (1–8×) or Width in pixels. The resulting PNG size is shown.
  3. Keep the background transparent, or untick it and choose a colour.
  4. Press Download PNG.

How it works

The code is turned into a local file and loaded by the browser like any picture, then drawn onto a canvas of the output size and saved as PNG. Because the browser draws the vector shapes at the final size, a 4× PNG is sharp and not a stretched small bitmap. An SVG without the xmlns attribute gets it added, and one without width and height gets them from its viewBox, so those files still render.

Tips

  • For crisp icons on high-density screens, export at 2× or 3× the display size.
  • Transparent backgrounds work in PNG; choose a colour if you will use the picture where transparency is not supported.

Frequently asked questions

How is the PNG size decided?

The SVG's own width and height are used; if they are missing, its viewBox is used, and if that is missing too, 300 × 150 like a browser would. Scale multiplies that size: a 24 × 12 SVG at 4× gives 96 × 48 pixels. In width mode the height follows the proportions.

Is it safe to paste SVG code from the internet?

The SVG is shown and drawn as a picture through an img element created from a local blob, not inserted into the page. Browsers do not run scripts inside such images and do not load external files for them.

Why are my fonts or linked images missing?

Pictures drawn this way cannot load external fonts or images. Text in an SVG uses fonts installed on your device, so convert text to paths in your SVG editor for exact results, and embed images as data URIs.

What is the largest PNG I can create?

Up to 16,384 pixels on a side and 100 million pixels in total. Very large images need a lot of memory and can fail on phones.
