How to use it
- Choose a video file.
- Drag the slider or type a time in seconds to find the frame.
- Use the arrow buttons for small steps of 1/30 s.
- Choose PNG or JPG and press Download frame.
How it works
The video is loaded into a hidden video element. Moving the slider sets its current time and waits until the browser has the frame ready; that frame is then drawn on a canvas at the video’s native size and encoded to an image. The file name carries the time, such as clip-1m23s500.png for 83.5 seconds.
Worked example
A 90 s clip with the time set to 83.5 shows the frame at 1:23.500, and the downloaded file is named clip-1m23s500.png.
Tips
- Pause on a sharp frame: motion blur in a single frame is part of the video.
- Choose PNG for text or screen recordings and JPG for photos of real scenes.
