Gamepad tester

Connect a controller by USB or Bluetooth and press any button, because browsers only show a pad after its first input. The page lists every button, shows each stick as a moving dot and lets you test vibration where the browser supports it.

No controller found. Connect one and press any button.

Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

What you see

  • Every connected controller with its name and mapping.
  • Buttons, numbered from 0. Pressed buttons are highlighted, and triggers show how far they are pressed through the filled part of the box.
  • Sticks, drawn as a dot inside a circle, with numeric values from −1 to 1 for each axis.
  • A Test vibration button when the controller and browser allow it.

The page checks the controller on every screen refresh, but only while at least one controller is connected.

Worked example

On a standard layout, button 0 is the bottom face button (A on Xbox, Cross on PlayStation). Push the left stick fully right and its dot moves to the right edge, and the readout shows about 1.00 / 0.00.

Tips

  • Wired or Bluetooth? Try the other if inputs are missing or late.
  • Several controllers. Each one is listed separately.
  • Drift. A dot that does not return to centre points to a worn stick.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the page not see my controller?

Browsers hide a controller until you press a button on it. Connect it, press a button, and it should appear. Also check it is not claimed by another app or a game launcher.

What does the mapping say?

Standard means the browser recognised the layout and numbered the buttons the usual way. If it is empty, the buttons are numbered in the order the device reports, so the same number may be a different physical button.

How do I check for stick drift?

Leave the sticks untouched. The dot should stay in the centre. Values below 0.05 are treated as zero here, so a dot that keeps moving means the drift is above that.

Why is there no vibration button?

Vibration needs a browser that offers the vibration actuator, which is mostly Chromium-based browsers, and a controller that supports it over the current connection.

Is anything sent anywhere?

No. The page reads the controller through your browser and shows it to you only.
