Choose a style and get questions that get people talking. Use them to open a meeting, start a class, warm up a team call or fill a quiet moment at a party. The questions come from a built-in list and are drawn in your browser.

Questions

  • Which fictional town would you most like to live in?
  • If you opened a shop with only one kind of product, what would it sell?
  • What is your most-used emoji, and does it say something true about you?
  • What food would you happily eat every Friday for a year?
  • What would you name a boat you owned?

Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Pick a style.
  2. Choose how many questions you need.
  3. Press Generate again and copy the list to a slide, chat or card.

Using icebreakers well

  1. Answer first yourself to show the length and tone you expect.
  2. Go round in a circle, or let people pair up with a neighbour.
  3. Keep it short: a minute or two per person is plenty.
  4. Match the style to the room: quick questions for large groups, deep ones for small trusted groups.

Frequently asked questions

What are the styles?

Fun questions are light and silly. Work questions suit teams and are safe for professional settings. Deep questions invite longer, more personal answers. Quick questions need only a word or two.

How many questions should I use?

One or two is enough for a meeting opener. For a longer session, pick a few and let people choose the one they like to answer.

Can people skip a question?

They should be able to. Say at the start that anyone can pass or choose another question, especially with deep questions.

Do the questions repeat?

Within one draw they do not repeat. Across draws the same question can come up again, because the list is finite.

Are the questions suitable for all ages?

They are written to be general and non-controversial. You know your group best, so skim the list before using it with children or in formal settings.
