Results

  • A baker realises that every loaf she makes tells the future of whoever eats it.
  • A map appears on the wall of a classroom, showing a place that does not exist yet.

  • A traveller arrives in a village where nobody has ever told a lie.
  • A child inherits a clock that runs backwards, one minute for every good deed.

Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Choose the type of prompt.
  2. Set how many you want to see.
  3. Press Generate again, pick one that interests you and start writing. Copy the list to keep it.

A simple routine

Set a timer for ten minutes and write without stopping, even if the sentences are rough. Do not edit until the timer ends. If the prompt does not work after a minute, take another one: the point is to start, not to pick the perfect idea.

Making a prompt your own

  • Change the character or the place.
  • Write the same scene from a different point of view.
  • Start in the middle of the action, not at the beginning.
  • Combine two prompts in one story.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of prompts are there?

Four: story premises (a situation to build on), opening lines (a first sentence to continue), what-if questions and journal prompts for personal writing.

May I use the prompts in my own work?

Yes. They are short ideas written for this tool and meant to be used. The text you write from them is yours.

Why do I get fewer prompts than I asked for?

Each type has a limited list and the tool does not repeat a prompt within one draw. Press again or switch type.

Is it made by an AI?

No. The prompts are written by hand and drawn at random in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
