Fill PDF form
Open a fillable PDF to see its form fields in a list. Type text, tick checkboxes, choose radio buttons and dropdown options, then download the filled file, optionally flattened so the answers become part of the page. The form is processed in your browser only.
Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Choose a fillable PDF. The tool lists every field by its name in the document.
- Type into text fields, tick checkboxes, choose radio buttons and pick dropdown options. Read-only fields are shown but cannot be changed.
- Tick Flatten the form after filling if you want the answers locked into the page.
- Press Fill and download. The file name gets a
-filled suffix.
How it works
PDF forms (AcroForm) are a list of named fields in the file. The tool reads the list, shows an input for each supported kind, and when you save, writes your answers to the fields and draws their appearance with a standard font. With flattening, the appearances are merged into the page content and the fields are removed. If the file declares an XFA form, the tool says so.
Worked example
A form with a text field name, a checkbox agree, a radio group size (small or large) and a dropdown country: type Ada, tick the box, choose large and Peru, and the downloaded PDF stores exactly those four values.
Tips
- Field names come from the document and may be technical; the form on the page shows where each one sits.
- Check the result in a PDF viewer before sending it on.
- If the form has no fields, the signature tool can still place a signature on the page.
Frequently asked questions
Which kinds of fields are supported?
Text fields (also multi-line), checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns and list boxes (one choice). Push buttons and signature fields are shown as a note and left as they are.
What is XFA and why does my form not open?
XFA is an older XML-based form format used by some government and bank forms. It is not a standard PDF form, and browsers cannot run it. The tool tells you when a file uses it. Open such a form in the program or website that issued it.
Why can't I type Cyrillic, Greek or Asian text?
The fields are drawn with a standard built-in font that covers Latin letters with accents. Characters outside that set cannot be drawn, and the tool stops with a message instead of saving a broken file.
What does flatten do?
It turns the filled fields into normal page content and removes the form, so the answers can no longer be changed in a form editor and look the same everywhere. Without flattening the form stays editable.
Is the document uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is opened, filled and saved by code running in your browser.
