Signature generator

Choose Type to turn your name into a script signature, or Draw to sign with a mouse, pen or finger. The PNG is cropped to the ink and has a transparent background, so it sits cleanly on documents.

Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Pick Type and enter your name, or pick Draw and sign in the box.
  2. Choose an ink color, and a style for typed names.
  3. Press Download PNG. The image is trimmed to the ink with a small margin.

How it works

Typed names are drawn on a canvas with a system handwriting font, shrunk if needed so that the whole name fits. When you download, the tool finds the smallest box that contains every non-transparent pixel and saves only that part.

Example

An image whose only visible pixel is the second one of a two-pixel row is cropped to a 1 × 1 box at x = 1, then saved with a 12 px margin.

Tips

  • Draw with a mouse or pen on a large screen for a smoother line.
  • Use a dark ink and place the PNG on a light background in your document.

Frequently asked questions

Is the PNG really transparent?

Yes. Only the ink is drawn, and every other pixel stays fully transparent. The checkerboard behind the box is just the page background.

Which fonts does the typed signature use?

System handwriting-style fonts, with the browser's generic cursive font as a fallback. Nothing is downloaded, so the exact look depends on what your device has installed.

Is a signature made this way legally binding?

That depends on the country and the document, so check the rules that apply to you. This tool only makes the image.

Does my drawing leave the device?

No. It is drawn on a canvas in your browser and saved straight to your downloads.
